Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu has slipped into Syria purportedly to visit the historic tomb of Suleyman Shah, the grandfather of the founder of the Ottoman empire near Syria’s border with Turkey.

The unauthorized visit which happened without the Syrian government’s consent is a flagrant aggression against a sovereign country which is a UN member state and is a grave violation of international laws and accords.

The move is seen by many as propaganda stunt in the lead up to parliamentary elections scheduled for next June as the approval ratings of ruling Justice and Development party in Turkey are markedly slumping.

Last February, the Turkish forces, aided by terrorists from the Islamic state in Iraq and Syria (ISIS), have…

the real Syrian Free Press

Syrians mark Martyrs Day

On the occasion of Martyrs’ Day, the state employees get a day off on Wednesday May 6th. the cabinet announced. More than 100 years ago, the Syrians revolted against the tyranny of 400 years of Ottoman occupation, with the occupiers using all forms of crimes to terror and deter the Syrians from fulfilling their goals in freedom and independence.

Since the Othman Empire had lost the WWI, it adopted the Turkishsization policy to oppress and replace all forms of nationalism, even if that meant annihilation of a number of the region’s peoples.

Yet, the Syrians remained firm in their adherence to their identity, language and civilization, with an increased awareness on the importance of culture and nationalism and more secret meetings and forums to discuss methods of countering and overcoming occupation.

On the occasion, both Regional and National leadership of the Baath Arab Socialist Party (BASP) said…

Media Attacks Assad as Terrorists Attack Civilians

the real Syrian Free Press

By Brandon Turbeville, Activist Post

As the Syrian Easter celebration began to draw to a close, residents of Aleppo were met with rocket attacks that were apparently aimed at killing civilians. The attacks, which took place in government-held territory, were the result of Nusra/ISIS terrorists funded by the West to overthrow the secular government of Bashar al-Assad.

Syrian news reporters were on the ground shortly after the attacks so as to catch footage of victims being excavated from the rubble and others being treated for their wounds at the hospital.

Sources inside Syria have described the missiles that hit the Aleppo building as being much more advanced than those previously used by the terrorists, describing the result of their impact causing the building to “split in half.” This has led many to believe that the terrorists operating in Aleppo have been provided with weaponry that is much more…

Syria Daily: Rebel Leader Alloush Visits Turkey Rebel leader Zahra Alloush (third from left) is greeted after crossing into Turkey on Friday

In a sign of expanding Turkish support for Syrian rebels, insurgent leader Zahran Alloush crossed Syria to visit Turkey on Friday.

The trip also shows the growing importance of Alloush in the armed opposition to President Assad. He is the leader of the Jaish al-Islam faction, based outside Damascus, and the head of military operations for the Islamic Front rebel bloc.

Photographs showed Alloush being greeted after he crossed into Turkey at the Bab al-Hawa post, controlled by rebels. He reportedly met Syrian Islamic scholars.

Turkey and Saudi Arabia have both stepped up arms supplies and intelligence support for the rebels this year, as the opposition has made significant gains. The rebels took the provincial capital of Idlib in northwest Syria last month, and they have steadily advanced through the south, including the recent…

Angelina Jolie Wants to Throw Syrian Civilians in Mass Graves

the real Syrian Free Press

Why is the title of the article so harsh? Because if Angelina was successful at getting the United Nations to grant any kind of “No-Fly-Zone” or “military action” in Syria, the result would be death of millions and millions of Syrians.

Why? Because millions and millions of Syrians ACTUALLY SUPPORT Bashar al-Assad. This would lead to the death of all Syrians who would refuse to live under the rule of any outside predetermined government put together by the United States, Saudi, Israel or any other foreign country they, themselves did NOT vote in.

Angelina spoke to the United Nations last week basically pleading for intervention in Syria.

So this article speaks directly to you Angelina, and those who support your speech.

As you opened your speech, you spoke of eleven trips you have made to Syrian “refugee camps” but have you ever even…

Izadi (Yazidi) women (11) and girls (9), released statements after they escaped from the Daesh’s captivity, in the northern town of Dohuk, in Iraq’s Kurdistan region, in January and February 2015.

In August, 2014, the ISIL (ISIS-DAESH) terrorist gangs took several thousand Izadi civilians into custody in the northern Iraqi province of Nineveh, separated the girls and women from their families, and transferred them to different strongholds of the terrorist group in Iraq and neighboring Syria.

DAESH is holding the Izadi captives in multiple locations across northern Iraq, including Mosul, Tal Afar, Tal Banat, Ba’aj, Rambusi, and Sinjar, and in areas it controls in eastern Syria, including Raqqa and Rabi’a.

Al-Zoubi: “Terrorist organizations too coward for real confrontation with Syrian army”

the real Syrian Free Press

Lattakia ~“The Syrian army and leadership are determined not to cede any inch of land in the war against terrorists”, information minister Omran al-Zoubi said.

In an open political meeting at al-Bassel Stadium in Tishreen University, the minister said that political solution should pass through a political track with powers and parties, not with people who are bearing arms against the government, indicating that only states have the right to bear arms for enforcing law and preserving internal security.

He added that Syria’s political and economic system, strong army and independent decision vexes its enemies, indicating that attacks against its infrastructure and economic and military institutions serve Israel.

The minister said it is important not to stop dialogue and to respect the others’ views, considering that “the political discourse of some opposition figures reflects no one’s vision of Syria’s future.”

He said that armed terrorist organizations are “too…

Preparing for ‘a death trip’: the story of one Syrian refugee

As a growing number of Syrian refugees attempt to cross the Mediterranean, aid agencies say it is impossible to know how many drown at sea in hopes of a better life

Sara Elizabeth Williams's picture

On a late-summer morning in northern Jordan, as the sun rose over the city of Irbid, perched high on a desert ridge, a young father prepared to die at sea.

He packed a bag, just the barest essentials – two pairs of trousers, two shirts, a spare pair of shoes, gaffer tape, money and his passport – and kissed his wife goodbye. Goodbye for months, for a year, maybe forever.

His children, a shy, watchful five-year old boy and a bright-eyed, studious seven-year old girl, didn’t fully understand what…
